International treaty systems have implications for cannabis IP. Following a review of relevant treaties, we will focus on the UN single convention and its impact on cannabis. In addition, there will be a discussion about specific instances of how these treaties apply to cannabis- the Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants, the Marrakesh Agreement, The Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights, & the Lisbon Treaty for the Protection of Appellations of Origin.
